Sempra Homes is extremely proud to have supported almost 50 apprentices, many from the Basildon Borough, into fulfilling careers in the new homes industry. They have been working with us to provide aspirational, sustainable new homes and helping to further improve the quality of life for residents of Basildon.
This National Apprenticeship Week meet 23 year old Brooke, who is embarking on an exciting career in our development team.
What made you consider the apprenticeship route
“I joined Sempra Homes a year ago as an estate agency apprentice. I wasn’t 100% sure what career path I wanted to pursue so when I heard about the apprenticeship programme through Basildon Council, I felt it would give me a fantastic opportunity to develop a career locally.
“I enjoy working at Sempra Homes, supporting the sales executive on valuation surveys, research into new development areas and also seeing the progression of a development from demolition through to the new homes being built. There is so much to learn and it's really rewarding.”
What has been one of your standout moments?
“Recently taking my exam for my NVQ. When I started the apprenticeship, the exam seemed so far away, but I am so proud of getting to this stage and also seeing how far I have progressed, particularly my communication skills.”
What advice would you give to anyone considering an apprenticeship?
“I would definitely recommend this route. There is so much support for you on an apprenticeship which is really helpful. Also do your research as there are so many options out there which is really exciting. I now wish I had taken this route straight out of school as I can really see how quickly you can progress your career.”
