Sempra Homes completes purchase of land at Bowers Close to create 31 new homes

Sempra Homes has successfully completed the land purchase of Bowers Close, London Road, Pitsea, Essex to deliver 31 new homes.

The site, which is just over one hectare, already has planning permission, and will create a mixture of affordable rent and shared ownership homes, subject to grant funding from Homes England. The affordable rent homes will be available for nominations from the Council’s housing waiting list, while priority will be given by Sempra to those living in the borough, key workers, and veterans to purchase the shared ownership homes.

Melanie Keys, Services Manager at Sempra Homes comments, “I am delighted to confirm the successful completion of this land acquisition in Bowers Gifford, which will add to Sempra’s expanding portfolio of sites. The entire acquisition process has gone extremely well with thanks to the combined efforts of Sempra’s New Business team and external agents who all worked hard to get the deal over the line!

“With the site already having planning permission in place to deliver a range of semi-detached and terraced homes that vary in size, from one bedroom through to four bedrooms, with policy complaint parking levels, this will cater for a broad range of renters and buyers, from singles, couples, and families. I look forward to seeing the site coming forward.”

The homes will be of a traditional character and built to a high specification using a Fabric First Approach. They will be designed to be energy efficient as well as meet National Space Standards and Secured by Design, with soft landscaping and a green area of public open space to the middle of the development to provide a suburban context to enhance the area for the benefit of the residents.

The development site is ideally located with public transport, pedestrian and cycle links on London Road, providing wider connections to the local area and amenities.
