Sempra Homes entered its development of 20 two-bedroom apartments on the former Space site in Long Lynderswood, Basildon, in the “best shared ownership” category.
Judges will be looking at how developers have structured the development, how the offer meets the needs for shared owners and how the development creates a desirable place to live; as well as location and infrastructure considerations.
Melanie Keys, manager of Sempra Homes, said: I am absolutely delighted that Sempra has been shortlisted as finalists for the Inside Housing’s Best Shared Ownership Scheme award, it reflects the hard work and commitment of the entire team.
Following the approval of planning permission earlier this year the homes on the site of a disused youth centre will be built along with car and cycle parking and associated landscaping. There will be 33 parking spaces provided alongside the development, including 20 for residents and 13 for visitors. The site has been vacant since the youth centre closed in 2013.
The awards ceremony will be held in London on November 23.
