Families are set to move into brand new homes in Basildon as the first tranche of properties were handed over to Sempra Homes, from the St Nicholas Mews housing development in Laindon.
The first tranche will see Sempra Homes take ownership of 4 four-bedroom semi-detached houses with a further 19 homes to follow from this development, during the course of the year.
The homes, which have been offered to applicants from the Council's Homeseeker register and provide much needed affordable housing, were unveiled at an opening event on Friday 27 January.
The properties, developed by Redrow, are just the beginning for Sempra Homes, with plans to develop more than 580 new homes in the next five years.
Sempra Homes will provide a range of tenure including affordable rent, shared ownership, market rent and market sale. These homes will provide something for everyone, from singles and couples looking to buy their first home, to families needing extra space, as well as older people wanting to downsize and enjoy their retirement.
Scott Logan, Sempra Homes Chairman, said: "We are delighted to see the letting of these new homes to applicants from the Council's Homeseeker register and look forward to bringing more homes to the market."
