A new mum has spoken of her joy and optimism for the future after moving into a brand new home at Ballards Walk after 2 two-bed and 2 three-bed properties were recently handed over to Sempra Homes.

The four properties have been offered to applicants from Basildon Council’s homeseeker register.

Jessica Tasker, 23, partner Kris Adewale, 23, and their four-month-old daughter, Nyla, moved into one of the two-bed homes at Ballards Walk this week.

Jessica, who is on maternity leave but works as an office manager for an events company in London and partner Kris, who is a plasterer, previously lived in Ryedene Close, Vange, in a studio flat.

Jessica, who has grown up in the Basildon borough, said: “I really love it. It’s so nice and quiet around here. The finish on the property is excellent and our neighbours are really nice.

“Now we’re here I can send Nyla to the same primary school I went to as a child and we are closer to family who live nearby. This is going to make a big difference to all our lives and our future.”

Cllr Anthony Hedley, Basildon Council’s cabinet member for housing and community safety, said: “It’s wonderful to see these quality homes going to young hardworking Basildon families.”

Cllr Phil Turner, leader of Basildon Council, added: “This is us delivering on our long term promises and the bold decision to set up Sempra Homes. It’s great to see young Basildon families moving into these quality homes.
