New housing for health workers, teachers and other public servants is among the priorities for Sempra Homes. As part of the delivery programme Sempra Homes will give priority to Key Workers within the Basildon Borough that wish to purchase one of Sempra’s new shared ownership homes. This includes a new stunning four-bedroom home available now at our St Nicholas Mews, Ballards Walk development with a further two, four-bedroom, homes to follow by December 2017.
Melanie Keys, manager of Sempra Homes: said: “Shared ownership provides an opportunity for someone to purchase a share in a home where outright purchase is not affordable and pay rent on the unpurchased share, with an option to buy further shares in the future. Through our shared ownership programme we are working alongside the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, enabling residents to purchase an initial 25% share of their home.”
Cllr Gavin Callaghan, Basildon Council’s chairman of the policy and resources committee, said: “Sempra Homes was established to deliver a range of new homes across the borough and I am delighted that they are delivering schemes to local key workers and residents through their shared ownership programme.”
Other Sempra Homes developments that will include shared ownership homes that will be available in 2018 will be at:
- Roman Way, Billericay: This development will provide six, two-bed shared ownership houses.
- Space, Long Lynderswood, Basildon: Twenty, two-bedroom apartments will be built in close proximity to Basildon Town Centre and Basildon Hospital.
- Pound Lane Central, Laindon: Nine, one and two bedroom shared ownership houses and apartments will be developed.
