Sempra Homes shortlisted in eight categories at the Essex Housing Awards

With a record-breaking number of entries and over 100% increase in submissions, Sempra Homes is proud to be shortlisted in eight categories at this year’s Essex Housing Awards. The prestigious awards, judged by a panel of industry professionals and advisors, celebrate excellence in housing developments, services, and individuals across the public, private, and voluntary sectors, promoting innovation and best practices across Essex.

Shortlisted Categories:

1.     Excellence in Design and Placemaking: Ghyllgrove Place - recognised for its thoughtful design and contribution to creating vibrant, sustainable communities.

2.     Meeting Housing Need: Temporary Accommodation and Homelessness Programme - supports Essex’s Housing Strategy (2021-2025), particularly strategic goal 3: supporting people facing homelessness or rough sleeping.

3.     The Mo Slade Rising Star Award - Tilly Jones - celebrated for her outstanding contribution as a young professional making a meaningful impact in housing delivery at Sempra Homes and Basildon Council.

4.     Small Housing Scheme (1 to 24 homes) Ganels Mews, Billericay - A 10-home development offering high-quality homes for Social Rent, Shared Ownership and Private Sale.

5.     Medium Housing Scheme (25 to 100 homes) - Bowers Close, Pitsea - A mixed tenure development with 23 shared ownership and eight affordable rent homes for local residents and keyworkers.

6.     Large Housing Scheme (101+ homes) - Chapelgate, Basildon - A major regeneration scheme delivering 70 apartments for social rent and 35 private sale homes, prioritising Basildon residents.

7.     Excellence in Construction Skills – Building Skills Through DevelopmentRecognising Sempra’s work to upskill local talent and promote construction careers through active development sites.

8.     Smart Working – Sigma South Essex (SSE), Basildon Council - Recognised for innovative approaches to collaborative working, digital transformation and smarter service delivery.

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony on 16th October, where Sempra Homes will join fellow finalists in celebrating housing achievements across the county.
